ARTEBENE is established in Lüdinghausen in 1985. A lot has changed since then. Having started with just 2 employees, staff has grown quickly to 40 – and also our product range has been extended continuously. ARTEBENE quickly became a substantial supplier to retailers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

In the course of a succession in 2005, the company’s founders hand the baton over to today’s owners – Beate and Dr. Rüdiger Kress. Their declared aim: Developing the German supplier to a European brand.

In 2007, the subsidiary ARTEBENE S.a.r.l. is established in Sarreguemines, France, following our conviction: All business is local.
ARTEBENE Limited is founded in 2008. The company is situated in South London and is our base for looking after our customers in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. We invoice in both Pound Sterling and Euros.
Finally, in 2010, ARTEBENE Papel y Diseño S.L. is established in Barcelona. Our South European sales force as well as our showroom in Sant Cugat are the backbone for optimal support for our customers in Spain, Portugal and Greece.
Our designers are the first to move to our new home in 2011 – the “Red Office” at Werner-von-Siemens-Strasse, Luedinghausen. The head office’s team follow a year later, comprising our colleagues from Purchasing, Customer Service, Bookkeeping and Marketing.
In 2012, our new central warehouse is built right next to the “Red Office”. The hard-working warehouse and logistics staff make our team complete. Today, our headquarters is the base for looking after retailers in 24 of the 28 EU countries. Here, also enquiries from all over the world are responded to. Furthermore, ARTEBENE is honoured with the reward "Top 100" for its exemplary innovation processes and excellent inventive genius.
2015 - Back to the future: The 30th anniversary is celebrated appropriately with a legendary 80s party, joined by all international colleagues and subsidiaries.
2016 - Also in our company, digitalization leads to a lot of innovations and improvements: Order picking in our warehouse is now done paperless with the help of scanners, sales staff gradually replace their printed sales documents with tablets, the B2B online shop gets a revamp and social media activities are extended. Our designers have developed a new database for all new products.
2017 - For pursuing our vision of sustainable trading, the ARTEBENE Group joins the UN Global Compact Initiative for corporate social responsibility in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption. Moreover, in June 2017, the German Design Council and the German Brand Insitute award us with the German Brand Award in Gold in the category "Industry Excellence in Branding". The German Brand Award acknowledges a successful brand management.
In 2018, our B2B online shop gets another major relaunch. We implement new features and optimizations in the areas responsive design, usability as well as services and add more interesting information to our retailer's magazine. All this makes shopping a real experience.
